Hey Fama Llamas !

Hope you all had a great Easter or spring holiday and the sun shone on you.

I leart another lesson about starting a website and new craft business, holidays are your busiest time of the year.

As well as making my own gifts for family, some super cute crochet bunnies I had a bunch of new order requests for Easter gifts, some original card commissions and my first order from the USA !!!

The family loved the kawaii bunnies and I decided I would include them as a new shop item and call them," Bunny Hugs" they will be coming soon. Not just for Easter gift, but like my Cuddle Kittens, a toy to give a friend a hug all year. I made a few of my new design, "It's a Spring Thing Llamas". I really like making the tiny chicks, and then my American friend requested a Pastel Birthday Llama.

You will be glad to hear it made the long journey via Airmail successfully and I got a photo of it in its new home .

I also got a rush request for two personalized llama card designs for a birthday and a graduation card. So, with just three days to come up with new ideas, I really needed to get my brain working so I could come up with something good .

I managed it, the two new card designs were really loved by the customer and her daughter , and I am so happy with them I have added them to my growing list of llama art cards in my Etsy shop too.

I really like the graduation design and just like that Brainy Llama I feel like I have passed another test this month .

What was the key to my success?

I think it was the brain food I ate ,while busy being crafty . For the first time I tried making a new recipe for kale crisps!!!

Real llama brain food, and they don't taste anything like kale (thank gooness!) more like those nice fancy chips or veggie crisps that cost a fortune. I thought they would be hard to make but they are super easy, super quick , Superfood, perfect to fuel your brains during the exams (argh!).

Give them ago and let me know what you think in the comments sction, and ,if you come up with any new seasonings I'd love to try them too.

They are really crispy, Melt in the mouth , I like how it does that, a bit like Quavers . Now I have may braces I need crunch that is not too rough, these are perfect, , just cut the thicker stalks off if you're like me and you can't do the chewing very well.

I added salt , pepper, and smoked paprika as my seasoning so that it tasted like BBQ or marmite on toast but plain is good too . My Dad liked the ones with just sea salt.

They are 100% vegan , gluten free friendly too.

My llama self is so happy I tried them out they're a specific taste and texture called "yummy?" They were great to nibble while doodling new ideas and will be on my Brain Food snack list from now on.

Now all you need to know is how to make them for yourself and enjoy the wonderful taste of kale chips

Brainy Llama Brain Food Kale Chips

Ingredients

200- 300g kale (pre cut is fine )

Olive oil or sunflower oil ( approximately 1table spoon )

Salt and pepper

Seasoning ( if you would like ) suggestions: smoked paprika, garlic salt, BBQ seasoning, cayenne, curry spices or chilli ( It needs to be a dry seasoning as anything very wet would make the kale steam in the oven)

Instructions

Heat your oven to 130°c

Cut or grab a bag of 200 to 300 grams of kale .

Wash it , pat them as dry as you can with kitchen paper or a clean tea towel .

This is to remove any water that would make them steam in the oven and stop them getting crispy.

Cut off any large thick stalks they will get chewy.

Spread the leaves over two oven trays and drizzle with the oil and mix the leaves about to get an even coating .

Put them in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes.

Take them out and let them cool a little then add your favourite seasonings and toss.

Put them in a bowl and scoff the lot !

Or, if you're not a greedy llama like me, or want to save them for your lunch box or make them ahead for a party, put them in a sealed, airtight bag. They will keep fresh for 2 to 4 days
